Excuses, Excuses, EXCUSES!!!


Called John after looking him up on the internet, and left a message for an estimate. He called me back the same day (that was the last time, Never call john on the 800 number he never answers, call on the 702). Sent him all four of my old watches circa 1960's 70's, and he called me back with an estimate of $2400.00 for all 4 watches including parts and a warranty card for each watch. FIVE months later I got the watches back, the one scuba watch was working fine and still working today, one watch the minute hand on the stop watch no longer moves when the second hand goes around one full rotation right out of the box, this was the only watch where every function was working . The other watch started and stopped, and ran slow. The last watch stopped completely after wearing it for less than a day. Called John, he was pleasant and at the same time abrupt, saying that the shipping could throw the watches out of whack, they are old and very sensitive, send them back with a copy of the warranty card and we will work on them.

I have to mention this again I paid $600 a watch for cleaning, calibrating, and repairing parts included, he quoted me the price and I paid in advance, when I shipped the watches. John literally screamed at me saying I damaged the watches, It's the my fault, and the shipping companies fault, then he starts telling me how I would run my business when something went wrong, sorry john I eat it when I put my foot in my mouth. If I can't do a job I tell the customer I can't do it. Then he proceeds to tell me that's it he won't work on my watches any more. FOUR months later I get the watches back, The watch with the minute hand That did not work, still does not work, The watch that runs slow has to be giggled lightly to start, and the watch that was not working, the minute hand on the stop watch fell off, the watch does work fine after you giggle it as well, hard not be rough when you have to giggle a watch to get it started.

Conclusion: John talks a good game, does not back up his warranty and or his work. The way I see it, if he fixes it right the first time everyone is happy (I am very happy about my scuba watch). Don't bother sending him the watch if he didn't fix it the first time, he'll make up excuses and you will still have problems, take to a local guy, that's what I"m doing to do!!!
